Sitka, Alaska

So I guess it's time to update this thing.

Well, let's start off with my getting and accepting a job offer for a school district in Sitka, Alaska. So yes, that means that I, along with Addison and my mom, have travelled to Alaska. I am waiting for Jeremy to come up here, which will be in mid- October. The weather here is great, cool and rainy most of the time. But there are days with sunshine all day (that reminds me of Tucson). We have adapted to walking in the rain and are in the process of buying GOOD rain gear. Rain gear from Tucson does not work well in Sitka. Our apartment in small but cozy and Addy has adapted well to everything up here. She is loving staying home with my mom while I work. She gets cranky if she does not get her daily stroller outing.

I am loving teaching, it is great! The school is small (only kindergarten and 1st) so I don't have too many classes. I only work part days which gets me home sooner and I can sleep in (haven't yet done that but most likely will when there is a vehicle up here to use). That brings us to another thing, we don't have a car up here, but walking is fine, the town is small in that respect and we are only 15 minutes (if that) from the closest grocery store, and the church that we attend is right opposite from that. The school is a good 40 minutes from our apartment, so that's a nice stretch of the legs. Although when you are walking it everyday, sometimes you don't feel like stretching your legs that far. Anyways, that's all for now!

So our household has grown! This time we are sharing our home with Jer's sister and her family. Addy is LOVING it! More people to play with! It is definately a full house now with 3 cats, 5 dogs, 4 adults, and 2 babies. Whew! The picture is of Addison at 9 months and Rebecca at 10 weeks.

So on May 30th we had Addison's baby dedication. It was pastor Todd's very first one and I think he did an excellent job! Addy didn't even cry. My mom did though. Hehe. So really nothing much to write on that but that it was very special and we don't have many pictures of it. So family we need you to send us the ones that you took! This is one from that morning in her very cute dedication dress. oh yeah and Lady. 

My First Blog

So this is my first blog! Yeah! Ok, where to start? How about an update? Well, currently Jer and I have been married for about 3 and a half years. Man time flies! We have a beautiful daughter that just turned 7 months. Live in a nice house, with two dogs and two cats. Yup that's life. Well, Addy is having a fit because of teeth trying to come in, so I am cutting this short. Be back later! Hey family, do you think that you would actually check this if I take the time to write?
